Ocatavia Starr just called, she seemed to be in better spirits than yesterday

evening. She said she had just gotten off the phone with Bob, and said he was

doing as good as could be expected.



She wanted to call and once again thank all of you for what you are doing. A

check for 328 dollars was put in the mail today to a secure address for

Octavia. I told Octavia that we are keeping balance sheets on all donations,

which will be turned over to her and Bob after this ordeal is over with. Bob

said he wanted to get in touch with each person who has donated to this fund

after his release, to personally thank you. Some people have pledged money

anonymously, this is fine, but please rest assured that the balance sheets,

along with donor names are in a secure location, no copies will be made, and

the original will go to Bob and Octavia when he is released. 



Many people have pledged money, some has already come in and been forwarded

to Octavia, but we are going to need as much as we can get to bring the

family thru this. It will take approximately 1000 dollars a month to keep

Octavia and Logan (Bob and Octavia's 3 year old daughter) supported until the

jury finds Bob not guilty, this does not include the attorney fees. Attorney

Nancy Lord is doing an excellent job, and any donations over what's required

to support the family will go towards the defense fund. Nancy is having to do

allot of traveling back and forth, and so far is paying all of this from her

own pocket. One thing that would help tremendously is if we can find a good

private investigator, who is willing to donate some time to help out with the

defense. Much testimony, interviews and affidavits will have to be done

before the trial... anyone who is experienced and can spend some time in

Macon, please let me know.



Also we will be looking for people to pass out literature and information in

the Macon area...anyone who can donate some literature printing, please let

me know, also any warm body who wants to get involved and pass this info out,

give me a call.



Mike Kemp and myself will be meeting with Nancy and JJ later this evening,

will let you know what's needed after the meeting.



Presently we ask that you keep getting the word passed around on the fund

raiser, I'm not trying to sound like a politician on a funsd raising

campaign, but the Starr family needs as much support as you can give. Rest

assured, Bob Starr will be acquitted. The government has absolutley no

case... but they continue to imprison this man and attempt to break his

family down....just because they have the power to do so.



Will keep you updated on a timely basis. Thanks from all of us on the front

lines in this fight for your support.

Update 4:30 PM CST:



Just had a fifteen minute conversation with Bob Starr, he's in real good

spirits. Said his fellow inmates are treating him real well, and surpisingly,

the food is pretty good in jail. I asked if there was any reading material he

would like for us to send, and he said that there was a complete library in

the facility. He does want everyone to write to him while he's locked away.

We were cut off before he could get me the address, but I will get it from

Octavia and put it out later. While we were on the phone the local news was

playing inside lockup... his story was the top story. I could not hear the

broadcast well, becasue of others in the jail talking, but Bob said it was a

good piece. Bob went on to tell me that he is keeping himself occupied by

going to bible study with some people he has met on the inside. Again, he

mentioned that what was really bothering the most was the fact that he could

not touch his family, only talk to them thru the glass. He's hanging in there

real well and has no anger in his voice. He did say that he would like to be

at our meeting next weekend and to tell everyone hello. He kept saying how

much he appreciated everything that is being done to help out Octavia, and

was impressed with the militia response over his case. Bob said he would call

back later tonight when Nancy and JJ arrived here.



Folks, please keep up the priority of this case, publicity and money is

needed. This is going to be a major embarassment for the government, once

he's found not guilty by a jury.
