Message from Gadsden Minutemen May 5 , 1996 Please repost and distribute Monday, May 6, 1996, representatives from the Gadsden Minutemen will once again travel to Macon, Georgia to meet up with other unit representatives across the nation for the pre-trial hearing of Bob Starr. As of last Friday, bond was denied for Mr. Starr. This comes after the government was unable to produce any evidence on Mr. Starr. As I have recently said, the militia is on trial, not Bob Starr. Bob Starr is being held without bail for nothing more than you or I have in our houses. No assembled devices were found, no witnesses saw Bob Starr place components on his property, no fingerprints have been found on these pipe nipples, no tests have been run to see if this supposed explosive chemical (which can be bought off the shelf by minors), would even explode. All of this was stated by the government ATF witness at the bond hearing last Monday. This is not 2nd hand knowledge, but fact, because I, along with many other people, including the press, were present at the hearing. The press was astounded by the judge's rulings, however, they refuse to run anything on this (notice the press has been real quiet since the hearing). Folks, this message is being sent out seeking monetary donations. Bob is locked away, which denies him the ability to support his family. Many people are bitching about how our government is taking away our rights, however, they refuse to get involved. We are not asking for everyone to show up at the hearing, but we plead with you to send any donations you can possibly manage. To all of you who have already pledged, and/or sent money, I can't thank you enough. Many militia personnel have taken off from their jobs to be present and support the militia cause in Macon, Georgia. Everything that is being done in Macon, is being done out of these people's own pockets. As I have said in previous posts, I have never asked for monetary support, but now I'm pleading. Many in the movement know Mr. Starr, many others witnessed the kangaroo court last Monday, all have concluded that this is a major step in the attempt to completely do away with the Patriotic movement. Attorney Nancy Lord and JJ Johnson have had threats made against them, but they, along with many others, refuse to give up in the fight for what's right. Militia personnel will be onsite and present throughout the trial, to monitor, document and provide security to the defense and the family. For the few militia people who will rotate out during this ordeal, they will have to pay for this from their own pockets (motel bills, food and gas). We need donations to help with these expenses, as well as making sure the Starr family continues to get by. Everyone is always asking what they can do, now you know. We need your support. Our national meeting on May 17, 18 and 19th will be a benefit for Starr and those militia people who are helping with this case. We urge everyone to attend. This meeting will be held in Gallant, Alabama (45 miles north of Birmingham). JJ Johnson will be speaking, along with an active firing range and some other live entertainment. Admission is free, camping spaces are plentiful. Contact the below numbers for directions and further information.
